A little bit of history regarding our origins.
Our Managing Director is - Mitchell Collins
Mitchell Collins has been involved in the Packaging Industry for over 30 years and is a qualified Packaging Engineer and a qualified Packaging Technologist. He has worked as a Packaging Development Manager at the highest level and has been an Independent Consultant and Company Director since the 1980's. He has also designed software for the Packaging Industry which is in use with many 'blue chip' companies. Therefore he has a unique blend of expertise which few others possess.
In 1980 (using a Sharp MZ80K) he deveoped the first Pallet Loading Software on a Desktop PC. This was converted to run on the IBM PC after it was launched in 1981.
We also had early versions for the Sirius and AppleMac. The IBM AT really pallet load software desk top software take off as the computer graphic chips caught up with the software capabilities.
We produced versions for various O/S's, starting with CP/M, then DOS and Windows. A re-write from DOS to Windows was a major step forward in useability and the software stability has been maintained through to todays Windows 7.
Originally working under the name 'Packaging & Computer Services' we converted to PCS Packaging Software Ltd. in the 1990's.
Mitchell Collins is currently Managing Director of PCS Packaging Software Ltd. , Co-ordinator of the Packaging Professionals web site and operates as an independent Packaging Consultant specialising in Expert Witness/Legal Issues, Packaging Strategy, Product Recalls , Machine/Material interaction, Problem solving, Software solutions for structural Packaging design, Cost savings and new pack designs.
